TOKIDOKI GIVEAWAY!

I finally came to a conclusion.

For those of you that read this post / watched this video - you know that I kind of .. umm .. bit my tongue when it came to Tokidoki. Yes, I said that I wasn't totally in love with the brand about a year ago.

Yes. I was wrong. Very, very, very wrong.

Truth is - I'm in love with the brand now. I think their makeup line at Sephora is the shit & I'm all about the cute, kitschy little thing they have going on. I am all in, Tokidoki. YOU WIN.

Sooooo.. since I feel like I did the brand somewhat of a disservice before, I figured I would make up for it by hosting the following little *gem* for all of my lovely subscribers:

it's happening.

The winner will receive their choice of Tokidoki Cromatico Eyeshadow. There are tons of colors to choose from & the packaging is *of course* freaking cute:

Hola Chickas!

It's been quite some time since I hosted a giveaway. Reasoning? I haven't had anything super fabulous to give away - and clearly I'm not going to give you guys crap. That's not how I roll. I choose my giveaway battles wisely.

But guess what? I finally have something super fabulous and I am soooo ready to jump back onto the giveaway bandwagon.

The folks at Apothica got in touch with me and to be honest - I had never heard of the website before. So obviously, I jumped onto the site to check things out and boyyyyy was I surprised. Basically - Apothica is like a one stop shop beauty outlet. They've got some of the best makeup brands alongside some of the trendiest beauty brands with products ranging everywhere from hairspray to candles to perfume. Let's just sum it up by saying there's nothing on this website you wouldn't want. I was pretty pumped when I saw that they carried Too Faced - which is one of my favorite brands ever. Me & their "Pink Leopard Bronzer" are married ;)

So onto what you're really thinking: "What are you giving me, Kell?"

Let's talk.

You can win a $25 Apothica gift card just by being an Unnecessarydrama.net subscriber. If you're not already a subscriber - become one by clicking the SUBSCRIBE button in the sidebar to your right. Aside from that - Apothica has given you plenty of opportunities to gain entries and here they are:

Kell's Favorite Things GIVEAWAY!

Well folks, I haven't done a giveaway in a hot minute. Perhaps even a scaulding minute. It's certainly been awhile. I don't like to do lame giveaways like some bloggers who have one every freaking week and they giveaway a barette and a lipsmacker and wonder why nobody enters. Well gee I wonder - probably because I have both of those items somewhere in my couch right now. When I do giveaways - I don't fool around.

So what better things to give away to my lovely readers than my FAVORITE items? There are none better! You're going to get a gaggle of goods that I can assure you do not suck & have been kell tested (& kell approved). Here's what will be included (colors will be picked at random, but I can assure you they'll be sexy ones):

Lash Blast Mascara
Spin Pins by Goody
Milani Runway Eyes Eyeshadow
ELF Mattifying Powder
Almay Makeup Remover
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color
Jesse's Girl Eye Dust
Kiss Color Changing Nails
Kiss Nail Art Polish
Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lipgloss

SO BANG! That's 10 amazing products! So how do you enter, you ask?
I'll tell you:

To enter - you must be a subscriber of both THIS BLOG and our YOUTUBE CHANNEL (subscribe by clicking here)! I will check! After you've subscribed to both .. leave a comment below with your name & e-mail address [this is your physical ENTRY, so it is required].

If you'd like a bonus entry (or two) - you can either tweet a link out (include @kelspot in the tweet so I see it) or link this giveaway on your blog (feel free to use the banner above). If you do either - make note of it in your comment and I'll give you an additional entry for each one.

The giveaway ends next Friday (May 7th) - so you have a whole week to enter and spread the word and gain yourself some entries. I hope you are all as excited as I am! Good luck, lovies! xo

Win A $50 Beauty Box Courtesy of UD's Partner "Exposed Organics"!

So I know we just wrapped the Perricone giveaway last week, but I am extremely excited about our new beauty partner site, www.exposedorganics.com, & have decided to go ahead and host another giveaway for Unnecessary Drama readers. And my reasoning behind that is because clearly.. you guys are the best :)

If you're unfamiliar with Exposed Organics, they're a great beauty company run by an even greater gal (Celeste is seriously one of my favorite people ever.. follow her on twitter by clicking on her name!) and all of their products are all natural. I did a review on them a little while ago, so if you want to check that out - click here. They've got everything from mineral makeup to hair products .. so if you've never tried them out, I'm giving you the perfect opportunity!

That is the beauty I am giving you guys a chance to win! A $50 'Beauty Box' from Celeste over at Exposed Organics. It's packed full of EO Goodies, including 1 full sized 2 oz bottle of plain jane purifying oil cleanser, 1 bottle of nectar, 5 eye dusts, 1 specialty eye dust (metallic, lid primer, integration line, highlights), 1 lip glaze, 1 lip lube/slip.. That's the motherload, folks. You're set for quite some time if you're the lucky winner. If you'd like to see the full product description from EO's website, you can find it here. Just for the record, the colors on the lipgloss and eye dusts will be chosen at random.

So how do you win, right? It's easy (like all of my giveaways are!):

- You must be a subscriber of UnnecessaryDrama.net.
You can subscribe through twitter, facebook, blogger, google.. whatever.

United States Residents Only, Please.
Good Luck to all of you! xo

"No Foundation" Foundation Giveaway from Perricone! Win win win!

So I am extremely psyched to announce that it's giveaway time over here at Unnecessary Drama yet again. Haven't done a giveaway since the whole "Pretty Claus" thing, so it feels good to be getting back into the swing of things :) Anyways, thanks to the lovely folks over at Perricone - you're going to have a chance to win their "no foundation" foundation .. In summary as to what "no foundation" foundation actually is, it's basically amazing in a bottle. You're going to get flawless looking skin, but at the same time - it's translucent coverage so you're not going to feel like you're wearing clay on your face. SPF 30 & it was designed by a freaking doctor, so you know you'll feel good about putting it on your face everyday (especially if breakouts concern you).. And honestly - that's what we all look for in a foundation, right? If you've never heard of perricone products - I'd totally recommend looking them up. They have a ton of great stuff & they're all about light renewal, which is another product of Dr. Perricone's.

Okay so shut up already, Kelli... right? Yeah - sorry.

So if you'd like to win a bottle of the coveted "No Foundation" Foundation,
here's what you have to do!:
1. You must be a follower of this blog, first of all. So if you're not - click over & follow. You can do it through blogger, google, facebook, twitter.. pick your poison.

2.  Leave a comment WITH your e-mail address & tell me why you need "no foundation" foundation. You can click here for a full product description.

3. Residents of the United States and Canada only, please :( Sorry to all of those overseas! I still love you!

Nice and easy, right? I'm going to draw the winner on Friday, March 5th - so that gives you a week to enter. Spread the word via Twitter & if you post on your blog, you know that's always good for bonus entries - so just let me know in your comment if you'll be whoring this out in any way :) Thanks to everyone for reading & most importantly - GOOD LUCK!!

Because Santa Doesn't Know SHIT About Makeup... Pretty Claus GIVEAWAY!

Well, my pretties - It is Christmas-time. Freakin' finally. I LOVE this time of year. Not only do I absolutely adore giving presents, buy my boyfriend's birthday is also on Christmas day... so I really get to go all out. Seriously, though - everytime I think about giving the people I bought for their gifts... I get such an excited feeling. I might die a little inside though whenever I watch them tear off my perfectly curled ribbons and coordinated wrapping paper - but I think I can manage. I went a little insane with wrapping this season. Oops.

ANYWAYS - Santa doesn't know shit about makeup... let's face it. So consider me Pretty Claus (p.s. is it claus or clause? I typed it like 30 times before I decided on claus). I love my readers, this is very true... So I decided that my festive ass was going to give one lucky reader a little gifty gift to celebrate the holidays. What is this wonderful gift, you ask? Well does Santa tell you what he's getting you for Christmas a week before he brings it? No. He doesn't. So therefore - it is a surprise.

SO.. I always have pretty simple rules for entering my giveaways so here they are:

  1. Be a follower. You have to follow in order to win.
  2. Leave a comment on this post with your e-mail address for your initial entry
  3. Tweet "Enter the Pretty Claus Giveaway on http://www.unnecessarydrama.net/ courtesy of @kelspot" for an extra 2 entries
  4. Post the banner below to your blog & link back to me for an additional 5 entries! It's a cute banner, too :o)

Winner's will be chosen Monday December 14th :o)
I just love the Holidays!

Jesse's Girl Eyeshadows Review + Win Her Shadows!

So I've been talking about a new brand called "Jesse's Girl" and I was fortunate enough to receive some samples from them to try out for you guys. Let me start off by saying that this company is extremely inexpensive & is available both online and in some drug stores (I saw it in my local Rite Aid). I was extremely extremely impressed by everything that Jesse sent me. They have a lot of different types of shadows (loose pigments, palettes, creme shadows, etc...) and all of them are super high quality. Honestly, I'd compare this brand along the lines of MAC and Urban Decay, but obviously at a much lower price point. Can't beat it.

First Up are the:

Bejeweled Eye Shadow Quads: $4.99 each or $17 for the full set of four!

Quads open (they come with applicators but i took them out)

Swatches

The bejeweled quads are probably my favorite product that was sent to me since the palette colors work really well together & are all super blendable. The colors are really pigmented (I love the gold on on the brown quad) and they're perfect to throw in your purse for touch-ups, too. Most of them are shimmery or metallic, but there are a few matte shades in there, as well. Investing in the set of four would probably be your best bet since you get such a variety in each palette (plus you can't beat $17 for 16 shadows). Pretty big mirror space, too :o)

Next up are the:

Color my World Baked Shadows - $4.99 or $17 for all four

Swatches

The thing that I love about these colors that you don't really see that well in the picture is that you really do get both of the colors with each application. The green and gold one is absolutely beeeaauutiful & these are very very silky on your skin. They are baked, so they're a little bit lighter than a typical metallic shade would be which is great.  Once again, they're very very pigmented and go on smooth. If I had to reccommend just one, I'd say go for the green/gold, but once again the set of 4 for $17 is a great deal.

Next Up are the:

Stardust Powder Eyeshadows: $4.49 each or $24.00 for all 6

The shadows are huge!

Swatches

The stardust eyeshadows are pretty light (aside from the black one, duh), so they're great for highlighting. They're all either metallic or glittery, so there's no matte shades here. The black one does have flecks of glitter in it which is really pretty when you apply it. The glitter doesn't fall off, either, like most other glittery shadows. Plus the size of the shadow is huge, and the packaging is really pretty, too :o) The black one is my favorite, though. If you like doing smokey eyes, this is a must have for sure.

Next we've got:

Creme Eyeshadows: $3.99 each

Swatches

I know the one in the middle looks blue in the picture, but it's actually this really beautiful irrdescent purple color. I'm usually not the biggest fan of creme shadows but these ones go on really smooth and aren't streaky like most of them are. I would reccommend applying them over a primer just as you would with any creme shadow, but the colors are way brighter than I expected. If you have oily skin, you might have a little trouble with getting these to stick, but that's the only issue I could see with them. The purple one is my favorite!

Next are the:

  Single Pan Eyeshadows: $3.99

"Sting" & "Wicked"

Swatches

These are their regular eyeshadows and once again, you get a TON of product for the $3.99 price point! Both colors were really pigmented right off the bat and they are both very shimmery. Wicked is more along the lines of a matte shade with glitter in it and sting is more of a straight metallic. If you're looking to try just a few products from them, I'd recommend picking a couple of these up. For the price, you can't beat it. Packaging is sleek, too.

Finally!:

  Eye dusts! $3.99 each / $24 for 7 / $92.50 for all 28!

My 3 favorite swatches:
Pink Glitz
Sunstone
Trouble Maker

I will just go ahead and say that these eye dusts blow every other eye dust out of the water. Forget MAC, forget Urban Decay, forget NYX... This is the best ones I have ever tried. The pigments are GOORGEOUSS and they are all so super shimmery that they work well alone or over top of your shadows. They make beautiful highlights and will work with just about any skin tone out there. Honestly, if you have the money, I'd invest in the full set. You will not regret it.

To celebrate!
I'm giving away four eye dusts from Jesse's Girl!

Blue Moon, Fruit Punch, Pixie Dust, & Peek-a-Boo

Anticipation is the word of the day

Wow! What a hectic morning at work! Can't complain though, I leased an apartment within the first hour I was here (hooray!) AND I managed to do it before it decided to pour down rain outside! Nothing worse than running through a monsoon with prospects in tow, and then having to sit in the office looking like a drowned rat for the rest of the day. Happy to say that I am nice and dry.

I have been checking the status of my master set from E.L.F. all day & it's supposed to be arriving at my house TO-DAY which means I will probably not see it until late tonight since I'm going out with boyfriend after work today.. Oh well, boyfriend leaves for school tomorrow morning so I'll have tons of time to get everything situated and organized :D I think I get way too enthused over organizing things but I don't consider that a bad thing :P it'll help keep my mind off the fact that boyfriend's back @ schoolio. Gonna miss him during the week, but weekends are extra fun now! Plus I have the FT j-o-b now which is a beautiful time filler. Things are looking up.

Does anyone else absolutely love when fall rolls around? As of right now I can hear a college football game on TV and it makes me feel so good. There's something about fall that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy .. back to school (suckers), football is back, hockey is right around the bend, pretty colors on the trees, and most importantly - HALLOWEEN (my FAVORITE holiday hands down). And I also I can't wait for the weather to cool down.. bring it on! I have a feeling this fall will be a good one :)

One of the trees on my street ALWAYS starts losing leaves & turning colors way before it should.. it just ups the anticipation for me!

I hope you're all having a great weekend!

and also - my giveaway is going to be starting this upcoming week! I can't wait for you all to see the amazingly cute item I have got for you guys! If you're a jewelery lover.. you HAVE to check it out :) I am so excited about it!

xoxo

Makeup Schmakeup

Packages waiting for me at my doorstep, 2 days a row.. seriously?! I am expecting to go home today and have my E.L.F. order be staring at me in the face and have a mild coniption from all of the excitement that's been delivered to me this week.

I got my AVON order yesterday and that inspired me to organize all of my makeup which was refreshing. Regardless of the fact that I got home from BF's house at like 11:30 and didn't start the process until 12, I feel like it's a mission complete. You can only take playing JENGA with eyeshadows for so long until you crack. Anyways, here's 2 of the things I got that I really really like:

"Dramatic Focus Kohl Eyeliner" (on sale - $2.49): not gonna lie, when i saw this .. I was p.o.'ed. It is roughly the size of a toothpick but I am happy to report that despite it's pathetic size - I really like it. It's good for doing the whole "winged out" thing & let's face it - the packaging is pretty cool. I'm a sucker for that. The super pointy tip is really "durable", so unlike a lot of eyeliners, it doesn't dull quickly. Bonus.

"Hydra Cool Brozing Stick" (on sale - $2.25): okay seriously, I put this on today and fell in love. It's called Hydra Cool, and the crap actual feels cool when you put it on - I was surprised! The color is perfect, I'm fair skinned and it gave me a nice golden blushy tone and if you're darker, it'll give you a beautious glow. For $2.25 I might buy like 5 more of these because they're amazing. It's rare I find something that I like as much as this. THANK YOU sweet lords of AVON.

And for less than $3 each.. c'mon. It doesn't get much better than that. I always take advantage when AVON has free shipping deals because I despise paying like $6 for them to send me a box full of bubble wrap with 4 littttllee tinnyyy eyeshadows or something in it. RIPOFF, I SAY!

On another note - are anyone elses allergies going ballistic right now? I thought this was the time of year they finally settled themselves the eff down and stopped ruining my mornings. Waking up with a stuffy nose is probably one of the worst things ever - only being outdone by waking up in the middle of the night with one & then not being able to fall back asleep. I love that :o not.

Also - the item for my giveaway is due to ship on Thursday so I'm shooting for Monday to get the ball rolling! You should all be very excited! I'm telling you! I would never disappoint you :)

xoxo

p.s. like the new layout?!

I <3 Mail & a Little Foreshadowing

Yesterday I got my necklaces in the mail from Korea that I'd been waiting for forever! I love ordering stuff from them on eBay cuz it's typically much less expensive but it takes forever to get over here. Lookie what finally arrived:

Please disregard my camera shadow haha :-X

But YES! They're so cute and way bigger than I thought they'd be. The HK head is a good inch and a half wide. Hard to tell that kind of stuff from eBay, especially if there aren't specific dimensions listed. But hell, for the price I got these for - I wouldn't have cared if they were small or not. They're both on long chains, too - which is nice since I've had a thing for longer necklaces lately. Either way, seeing those little yellow padded envelopes sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for me is such a great feeling :o) I ordered a bunch of makeup brushes from over there the other day, so now I get to wait for those to show up along with my AVON & E.L.F. orders. My superficial ways are slowly but surely dissolving my bank account, but I don't hate it. Saves me from spending all my money on food.. right?

I'm going to lunch with one of my 2 best friends today whom I haven't seen in awhile. She's a manager at our mall's Abercrombie & Fitch so her shitty mall hours schedule is screwing up her social life. I understand cuz I dealt with it at the Dairy Queen for way too long. It'll be nice to see her, lets just hope Panera is a little less insane than usual. I'm hoping it will be since it seems every time I go there, it's a bunch of highschool kids and well.. schools back in suckers! Hit the books, not the bread store. Give me my lunch break back.

ALSO - spoiler alert .. I've been in translation with an awesome jewelery designer/maker and I'm going to have a super cute and amazing giveaway coming up. Hopefully within the next week. Just waiting to complete the transaction & get the goodies in the mail.. Are you excited? Cuz I am.

xoxo
