FAQ & 400!

Wow you guys... 400 followers?! You all seriously make my day.
Thanks sooo much for following &
I promise to keep the interesting crap coming for you all to read!

Anyhoo.. Hey ladies ;o) Hope you're all having a fantastic week thus far. I'm a day and a half into a ten day stretch at work, but I feel as though the 4 day weekend that's patiently waiting for me beginning November 12th will be worth it. After that, it's pretty much smooth sailing through the rest of the month. Thanksgiving provides a nice little road block for work & gives me a free Thursday off, and after that Christmas is such a fantastic distratction that work doesn't even matter anymore :o)

So I wanted to do this post on some FAQ that I get in my e-mail and in comments regularly. I just wanted to throw out there that if you guys ever have any questions and you want to e-mail them to me, definitely feel free. I get 4-5 e-mails a day from readers, and I always answer! Questions, comments, concerns, whaaatever - throw them my way.

So here are five of the most frequently asked questions :o) :

  • What products do you use in terms of foundation/powder/bronzer/etc...? This is a question that I get a lot.. especially after I post an LOTD or something along those lines. I swear by both of these products, so if you're looking to change - I'd recommend them. I have not had any issues with breaking out or excess oil with these which is fantastic. I don't use a powder - just foundation & bronzer - so here's what I use:

Stay Matte Clarifying Foundation by Rimmel
Gives your skin a subtle "matte" effect and is oil free. Don't be afraid of Matte products! A lot of people think it'll make their skin look dull but like I said, this one is subtle so you still have a healthy looking face, just less oil! They also have powder that matches, but I don't use a powder so I've never gotten it. Might be worth picking up though ;o)

Jane Shimmering Bronzer in Fiji
I am always switching bronzers but I am sticking with this one. The checkerboard pattern in the product gives you a bunch of different shades, so you don't end up looking orange. I always had a problem with bronzers being too dark for me and instead of highlighting, they just made my face look too dark. I haven't had any issues with this one and the shimmer isn't too overwhelming (some are wayyy too sparkly.. like, come on - I'm not going to a rave I'm going to work.) Picked this up at ULTA but some drugstores also carry Jane products.

  • Is there a lipgloss you recommend that isn't overly sticky? Ahhhh, the struggle of locating a lipgloss that doesn't give you sensation of smearing rubber cement all over your lips. The issue is that if the stuff is too "oily" feeling, I also get grossed out (case & point - that damn forever21 shit). However, I have managed to find lipgloss that is fantastic alone, and overtop of color and guess what - you can barely even feel the stuff on your lips.. IT'S MAGIC:

I use it in "Wicked" (the third one from the left) and it's perfect. Not much of a smell, so if you like the sensation of sniffing artificial strawberry under your nose all day, it's not gonna be up your alley - but if you hate sticky and despise oily - DING DING DING we have a winner.

  • What eyeshadow primer do you use/recommend buying? I have tried quite a few different primers and although everyone raves about it - Urban Decay's Primer Potion always will be the best one in my opinion. I do use E.L.F.'s mineral eyeshadow primer on occasion but I have had some issues with creasing with it... so it's good not great. If price is your deciding option - E.L.F. is $3 and Urban Decay's is ehhh.. like $17? So.. you do the math

  • You always blog about good deals.. how do you find them? I seriously get this question every single time I post a haul on here and I'm telling you guys - you can't go out looking for these things, you just have to find them (kind of like a good boyfriend haha). Don't be afraid of clearance... a lot of girls stay away from these racks for some god forsaken reason that I'll never understand because they don't want to look cheap. Also, a major pointer I have is don't go shopping with anybody. Not your friend, not your boyfriend, not even your mom. I shop alone, my friends. I fly solo. I don't feel pressured & I can look through the cluttered ass clearance racks for as long as I want and I don't have to feel like I have to keep up with anybody else. Almost everytime I go shopping with someone else, I either regret buying something or regret something I didn't buy. THINK ABOUT IT! Bet you've had a similar experience!

  • Finally, What's your Favorite Eyeshadow? I get a lot of people looking to add to their collection but do it in a smart way - so finding out what other people adore is a really great way to go about it. I really truly love Urban Decay Palettes, as well as the Jesse's Girl bejeweled quads. Like I said, if you're looking to go cheaper - Jesse's Girl is your shit but Urban Decay Palettes are great value and you get to try a bit of everything. For about $35 - $40 you get like 10 shadows which is a great price if you work it out. Now on the contrary, I would never buy a single UD shadow ($18 for one? yeah, no) - but the palettes are great. Jesse's Girl quads are great because they give you the colors to do a whole look in one little compact (and pretty) package. Check them out at http://www.jessesgirlcostmetics.com/ if you're interested. Great price, too. If you are interested in UD palettes, do like I do & consider them investment pieces cuz I promise you'll use them a TON. These are the two I swear by:

"Deluxe" Palette

"Sustainable" Palette

Hope I helped. Love you guys!
