Viva New York,Suckas!

So I'm finally back from my nice long weekend in the city that never sleeps & I already want to go back! Like I said, last time I was there was in 7th grade (for band, mind you. I played the saxophone and yes, I was awesome) so I didn't really get to do a lot. We did all kinds of sweet, touristy things & although I didn't get to spend an entire day haggling in Chinatown, I did manage to get an awesome Hello Kitty necklace down from $18 to $8, an amazingly cute crown ring for $10, and a couple of leopard print scarves for $3 each. Successful. Anyways ..

We took a carriage ride through central park with a very angry carriage driver who got in a fight with a cab driver at a red light. I think it was his way of saying: "Welcome to NYC, Kell".. Welcome, indeed..

We took a ton of pics with cute NYC landmarky things. Clearly, JP over there was a little hesitant to climb his ass to the top after boyfriend announced that it was much harder than it looked. Still a cute picture :)

My main goal was to see Strawberry fields in Central Park which was really amazing & gave me and Moll goosebumps. There was a guy there playing "Imagine" on an acoustic guitar which made it even better. For those who don't know - S.F. is a memorial for John Lennon who was shot pretty nearby to where this is located. Def worth checking out.

For those of you familiar with SNL & Andy Samberg's amazingly hilarious digital shorts - they say a line in "Lazy Sunday" that goes "let's hit up magnolia and mack on some cupcakes." Well I just about FAINTED when I saw this. Hit it up we did, and macked we most certainly did. They were AMAZING.

Our buddy Matt was supposed to come along on this trip, but unfortunately the Navy doesn't give much sympathy when you say you wanna go on vacation with your friends when they have other plans for you. So we did this for him as a nice little reminder that we wished he could come with us :)

And of course.. me and boyfriend had to hit up the top of the empire state building. AMAZING.

But through all of these amazing experiences, there was one thing that took my breath away when I saw it. I gasped, I stepped back in awe. My jaw dropped open..

A MAC STORE. NOT A COUNTER. A STORE.
WITH A GIANT GAGA PLASTERED OVER TOP OF IT.
AM I DREAMING????????????

...let's just say it's my favorite souvenier [ xo ]

Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are MADE OF!

While I may be sad about leaving you little boogers high and dry until next week..
I am most definitely not sad about spending my long, much needed weekend in the city that never sleeps with the boyfriend & friends that never fail to amuse me:

Haven't been there since 7th grade so I'm planning on having the time of my life :o)
I'll take lots of pictures! And we're planning on going to Carlo's Bakery since it's relatively nearby where we'll be.. Hellloooo - Cake Boss?!?! Anyways, don't miss me too much - stay pretty - and I'll talk to you lovely specimens next week.. MWAH!

Sianara My Pretties.. I'm Goin Surfin!

Well here we are on the last day of 2009... Craziness.

I'm not a big fan of change. Infact, even after leaving jobs that I've absolutely despised - I've had a little sense of "aw man, I actually am gonna miss that". I think it's more of a routine that I get into. So when an entire year, let alone an entire DECADE, comes to a close... yeah, it's weird. But 2009 was fabulous & I have no doubts in my mind that 2010 will be even better. As long as the Backstreet Boys go on tour.

ANYWHO,
I figured I should post before I kick off the festivities of today & hit the road tomorrow to spend my first 3 days of 2010 in utter & complete style. While all the other schmucks in Pennsylvania are outside m.f'ing the snow while shoveling it off their front porches, I will be surfing. Indoors. With my best friends. At this absolutely wonderful creation:

That, my friends, is just a small snippet of the Kalahari indoor water park.
and yes... you can surf indoors there! COWABUNGA.

So needless to say, I probably won't be posting until around the 4th of the month so here's me wishing you guys a great (and safe) new years eve tonight. Thanks, like always, for reading & being pretty and I can't wait to provide you guys with more sarcastic posts in 2010. Sianara!

No Matter Where in the US I am.. I Feel at Home in Sephora!

Well guys I have officially made it alive through my first business trip. Classes are over & I'm feeling great about how the trip went. I was here with Jerry, who is the "big boss man" of our company and also was the one who taught the class. We went out to dinner tonight & I got to tell him a lot of my ideas and I'm feeling really great about what I went to school for. He thinks I'm a great marketing person & I'm really excited for my career in the future. It's a great feeling - never dreamed I'd feel this way if you'd have asked me a year ago!!

After class today, Jerry wanted to go shopping for his wife so we went to the mall & he set me free in there for an hour or so. I walked through and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw that magical black and white sign. Seeepphhhooorrraaaaa :o)

Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box - $38 [came with a mini primer potion]
Sephora "Tricks of the Trade" Perfection Primer - $18
Oion [trial size] rub out dry cleanser - $10
Claire's Nail Polishes (just threw these in!) - $4 each

Swatches from the Urban Decay Palette.. they're so sparkly - I wish you could see them better in this picture but I really love "Kiddie Pool" [light blue with glitter] and "Uzi" [white with silver] .. The brush in there is nice but I probably won't use it.. it's a little bit small for my liking and sorta stiff. The reason I'll pay a little more for UD shadows is because of how pigmented they are and the colors are really unique. Can't beat their packaging, either. Honestly, I'd have never bought this palette just by seeing it online but seeing how sparkly and pigmented these shadows are in person... sold.

I have yet to truly "try out" the foundation primer but I've been looking for one and I trust Sephora lol.. I had somewhat of a shiny spot in the middle of my forehead when I got out of the shower so I put some on and it definitely tamed it. I'm hoping it makes my powder/foundation last longer, too. That's the main reason I wanted it. It says it has "pink pearls" in it to add a luminous quality to skin, but it had no real color which was okay with me.  It's a bit perfumy which I don't mind but some people do. I'm also interested to try the dry shampoo.I'll probably just use it on mostly my bangs/roots - but I heard some good things about this brand & it wasn't super expensive. The Claire's polish is great, though! I just used it and I love the color. It's very matte so if you like shiny nails, use a top coat - but it goes on great and really smoothly. The brush is a little "fluffy", but I got around it. Good, cheap, polishes!

Well guys I'm going ti finish packing and mentally prepare myself to head to the airport at 5:30am. I love you all and enjoy your weekends!

Ready to Head off to my Last Class!

Well you guys, today is my last full day in Kentucky & it's been an extremely looonnnggg week. My last day of class today (classes have been from 9am-5pm for the past 2 days) & I can't say I'll miss them too much! I am glad my company sent me, though... and I know I'm going to ace the test that I have to take online (with my book) when I get home. That'll make me a "leasing professional", which is great since I just got this job at the end of July! All I have to say is thank GOD for this laptop because I would have been so bored in my hotel room this whole time! And I also don't think I've ever had so many meals paid for in my entire life! It's been nice but maaannnn I am full! I am totally ready to get back to Pittsburgh bright and early tomorrow (my flight is at 7am... yeah.) !! I know I have a few things waiting for me to review/giveaway when I get back - so that just adds to my excitement.

I'll leave you all with this little preview of what I'll be looking like all day today in class:

Don't be Jealous!

Live from Louisville..

Hey Guys :o)

So it's been a hectic crazy weekend leading up to my first business trip ever and I'm thrilled to say that I made it safe and sound. Never flew by myself before, or transferred planes - so I was really nervous last night just thinking about everything. Not to mention that I wasn't feeling well... but I've been taking Tylenol cold so I think I'll be alright. I've felt fine all day today so let's hope it stays that way. I'm currently in my hotel room in Louisville and loving the king size bed :o) I packed pretty light (I would say so, at least) and I wanted to do a post on some of my essentials that I had to bring with me. Figured I'd be festive and make a post specific to my current situation.. haha.

So here's the pic of everything:

VS Pink "Hoodie" - $30 (it was on sale, I think it's $70 regularly @ VS)
Zoe 1" Flat Iron - $29.99 (Ulta)
Lash Blast Mascara - $7.00 (Drugstores)
AVON Eye Makeup Remover Lotion - $3.99 (www.avon.com)
"Fairest of Them All" Necklace - $50.00 (found it on amazon)
Brown Suede Slouch Boots - $30 (Charlotte Russe)

Close up of the smaller stuff..

Closeup of the necklace :D

  • VS Pink "Hoodie"  - If you can get one of these hoodies, I really recommend it. This one isn't made out of sweatshirt material (hence why "hoodie" is in quotes), and that's the reason I like it so much. It's not lined with anything which makes it great to throw over a t-shirt, but at the same time it won't bulk up if you're wearing a long sleeved shirt. It's great to take in place of a lightweight coat and doesn't take up as much space.
  • Zoe 1" Flat Iron - I just got this and I really like it already. I don't understand the bad reviews on this because I think it does a great job and I don't feel like I'm frying my hair with it. I can bring this instead of packing a flat iron AND a curling iron because it does both and it comes with a travel pouch which is really convenient. (For those of you who asked about my WET2STRAIGHT flat iron - I don't hate it, but if you use it to dry your hair and straighten it - prepare yourself to steam burn your hand about 300 times. The iron part is wide and oddly shaped, so you can't use it for anything but straightening. It's nice but I never use it on wet hair which sort of defeats the purpose).
  • Lash Blast Mascara - I think I've said this about 400 times, but this is my HG mascara for sure. I actually bought a whole new tube just to keep in my purse, and that's the one I brought with me. It's worth it.
  • Avon Eye Makeup Remover Lotion - I've talked about this product before and I brought it with me because it does a really good job & it's gentle, so I don't feel bad using it every night. It's in a small bottle and I feel better about taking it on planes because I don't have to worry about the cap coming off and it spilling everywhere. If you travel a lot - I would definitely recommend getting this. Plus it's only $4. I threw it right into my makeup bag & I was good to go.
  • Fairest of Them All necklace - My wonderful boyfriend got me this for my birthday and I love it so much. I like to bring it with me because it reminds me of him (obviously) and it's a really pretty looking piece and matches a lot. The red is a good accent color, too. Since this is a business trip - I wanted to bring some nicer jewelery with me so this one was an obvious choice :o)
  • Brown Suede Slouch Boots - I am so obsessed with boots right now it's kind of disgusting but I recently got these and they go so great with so many outfits and are dressy without having a heel! They look good with skirts or skinny jeans - so I love bringing stuff that's versatile. The less shoes I can pack the better. They take up so much freakin' space in the bag! If you can - get to Charlotte Russe asap cuz I got these on the "if the shoe fits" table & they were 50% off so I only paid $15! Good, cheap investment piece :o) !!
So I think I'm going to relax and try and get some freelance work done while I have time off. I think I might be going out to dinner with the other people from my company who are here tonight, but who knows. I'm hoping for a nice, stress-free week! I'm already looking forward to getting home since I'll have some things waiting in the mail for me when I get back. Reviews & a little giveaway type deal for you guys. Should be fun :o) Enjoy your weeks, dolls!
